1. Accessibility Statement

The University of Graz is constantly striving to ensure that its website complies with the Web Accessibility Act (WZG), as amended, in order to implement Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (Official Journal L 327 of 2 December 2016, p. 1).

This accessibility statement applies to the website www.uni-graz.at.

2. Status of compliance with the requirements

The University of Graz is currently in the process of completely revamping its website – accessibility has been a key consideration throughout the development process.
As a result, the content regarding the assessment of (non-)accessible content will be subject to constant change in the near future.

3. Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was drawn up on 10 May 2023 and is updated on an ongoing basis.

The assessment of the website’s compliance with the WZG for the implementation of the requirements of Directive (EU) 2016/2102 in accordance with WCAG 2.0 at Conformity Level AA will be carried out by early March 2024 in the form of a self-assessment using the ‘think aloud’ method with a large number of university staff members.

4. Feedback and contact details

The content and technical infrastructure of the website are constantly being developed. Usability and accessibility are of great importance to us.

If you notice any barriers that prevent you from using our website, please let us know by email.

Please send all reports and suggestions to webredaktion(at)uni-graz.at with the subject line “Report of a barrier on the uni-graz.at website”. Please describe the problem and provide the URL(s) of the relevant webpage or document.

5. Enforcement proceedings

If you are not satisfied with the responses received via the contact details provided above, you may submit a complaint to the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints electronically via the contact form.

Complaints office contact form

The FFG will examine complaints to determine whether they relate to breaches of the provisions of the Web Accessibility Act, in particular failures to comply with accessibility requirements, by the Federal Government or an institution under its authority.

If the complaint is justified, the FFG must issue recommendations for action to the Federal Government or the legal entities concerned and propose measures to remedy the existing shortcomings.
